Togakure Ryu Kinton no Jutsu

The Art of Metal Evasion (Kinton no Jutsu)

These are methods that the Togakure Ryu shinobi had for using sound or light (usually from metallic objects) for deception, signaling, and escape. For instance, startling people by brandishing a sword at night or striking a metal bell are methods of Kinoton. Kinton also covers the Art of Stone Evasion (Sekiton no Jutsu) when it comes to rocks that are not stationary, i.e. those that move or are used to make sound.

Tree Spirit Method (Kodama no Ho)

These are methods that the Togakure Ryu shinobi had for distracting an opponent with sound and for using the superstitions of their time. Several shinobi would hide in trees and strike metal on metal repeatedly. The superstitious people who drew near would think that the forest was haunted by tree spirits. This could also be used by several shinobi to distract and confuse an enemy. With the person distracted, one of the shinobi could sneak up behind him and kill him. Another concept of this method is taking advantage of sound, whether natural occurring or created by the shinobi, to distract an enemy allowing the shinobi to attack, escape, etc. Examples of this would be thunder or a bell. The main concept is to use sound to draw an enemies attention and then kill him or escape while he is momentarily off guard.

Light Method Signals (Hikari no Ho Aizu)

These are methods that the Togakure Ryu shinobi had for using mirrors of polished metal to signal. The shinobi would use the sun to reflect light off of the metal and the shinobi would create bursts of light by tilting the mirror or by passing his hand in front it.

Light Method Sight Remover (Hikari no Ho Metsubushi)

These are methods that the Togakure Ryu shinobi had for reflecting light in the opponent's eyes with his katana. When it was sunny, the shinobi could stand with his katana in Mist Stance (Kasumi no Kamae) and reflect sunlight into the opponent's eyes. While the opponent's sight was impaired, the shinobi could attack. A mirror or shiny piece of metal could be used for this same purpose.

Yin and Yang Method (Inyo no Ho)

These are methods that the Togakure Ryu shinobi had for using the contrast between light and darkness, as well as the time it takes the human eye to adapt to the change. This skill could be used during the day or at night so long as there were dark shadows present. The basic concept was for the shinobi to hide in the shadows until an enemy approached. Once the enemy was near, the shinobi would jump into the light, kill the enemy, and jump back into the shadows.
